Another fantastic midcentury watercolor / acrylic on parchment original painting. Signed by the Thai artist VASAN and dated 1967. This piece is framed with inverted raised walls which gives it a shadow box feel. Yellow fabric matting (probably silk) under glass w/ wooden frame. This piece is exquisite. The only damage noted is some water hotsell damage to the top left fabric around the painting. The painting itself is in perfect condition. The use of acrylic paints instead of oils became popular in the 1950's-1960's because artists loved it's ability to mimic the thin transparencies of watercolor, while also being able to be built up like oil paints. This example has the beautiful feel of #watercolor with the extra pop of acrylic.
