"Marianne" - red white and blue pendant with premium crystals. Flag-themed jewelry in time for French Bastille Day, or the US 4th of July.

The central Agate slice is delicately patterned with red,white and blue like a butterfly wing. Wire-wrapped in flowing organic patterns and encrusted with small crystals and seed beads. A fringe of red and blue crystal droplets hang underneath.

Mid-length pendant, suspended from a fully adjustable copper chain with crystal tiny flower details. Fastens with a lobster clasp.


Marianne is a young girl, symbol of the French republic, portrayed on official documents, coins, and statues outside civic buildings. She is loosely based on the Roman Goddess of Liberty, and symbolises both the future (youth and potential) and the founding values of the Republic (Liberty, Equality, Fraternity).

The Statue of Liberty in New York was created by the French Artists Frédéric Bartholdi and Gustav Eiffel, and was based on Marianne to represent the same values in the USA.

Britannia is the personification of Britain, portrayed as a warrior Goddess holding Poseidon's trident and a Spartan shield painted with the Union Jack flag. Sometimes her robes are also Red White and Blue. A lion rests at her feet. She represents British liberty and the values of democracy, as well as Warrior Queens such as Bodica (who fought and cast out the first Roman invasion of Britain), and Elizabeth I who defeated the Spanish Armada.



MEASUREMENTS:

Pendant itself is 9cm long , by 5 cm wide // 3 1/2 inches long by 2 inch wide.

Chain is 44cm long // 17 inches

Europe: 4 days to 4 weeks, depending on your country, and any restrictions/lockdowns in place.
