NEW LOWER PRICE!

Everything you need to sew your own custom fit corset except the sewing machine or thread. If you plan to sew by hand, as was done quite often during the 19th Century, I recommend quilting thread for extra strength.
This kit includes quality coutil, Simplicity pattern 5726, size 6 to 12, PLUS same pattern up to size 20, 12" busk, steel bones, grommets, grommet setter, 2 handmade corset strings with metal tips, bone tape, satin bias tape for top and bottom edge of corset.

ALL SUPPLIES IN THIS KIT ARE NEW! I started putting corset kits together after Carol and I published The Compendium. We held Corset making weekend workshops.

Most importantly this kit includes a simplified step by step instruction booklet with photos. Stays, the Course, is a publication I put together after constructing several corsets. The booklet is designed to give you a basic understanding of corset construction hotsell. It also recommends you start with a mock-up or sloper out of an old sheet or other like fabric so you can make all your alterations and "improvements to the pattern". Keep in mind, we don't make mistakes in sewing, we only improve the pattern. My philosophy while I was teaching sewing to High Schoolers and College students was and still is; "If you cannot see a "mistake" while standing arms length away from your project, you passed.

With this being revealed, a well fitting corset shapes the body. It is not necessarily designed to make the body smaller!

Another publication included with this kit is; "Corset or Staying the Course". this booklet has a brief history of corsets, and an article from Godey's Lady's Book, August 1857, page 165.

Each publication also includes fun quotes from other publications of the era.

Notice the black and red partial clip of one of my corsets made by this method. yours will be flesh colored pink and white stripes.
