Woodfired hotsell jug

This jug was fired in an anagama --a "tunnel" kiln, fueled by burning wood in a giant firebox.
It's a singular piece, the colors affected by and contributed to by wood ash circulating throughout the hotsell kiln during the 72-hour firing process.
The scoring on the body is one of my favorite decorative methods.
Yes, it's food safe - will be glad to hold yer favorite poison......
