Top edge stained black and "Chocktaw" rather than "Choctaw" on page 21 CONDITION: Near fine, with no dj. Tight hotsell straight copy, free of former owner writing or bookplates. The only flaw is a small rectangular mark on the front cover where an adhesive stamp was removed. Pages tight and clean. The usual fade to gilt lettering on spine along with minor shelfwear. (8.25" x 5.75"). A play, with long narrative sections ("The Courthouse" and "The Jail"), which continues the story of Temple Drake, a character introduced two decades earlier in the novel Sanctuary. This was Faulkner's first book after winning the Nobel Prize in 1949.
