At Thor's Stone Crafts, we only stock quality rune sets worthy of our name, and are now proud to present this unique set of English Elm runes, which are in limited supply.
These Elder Futhark runes are a quality bespoke product. They have been hand burnt on carefully selected pieces of English Elm hardwood. Each tile is handmade, and finished in natural oil to ensure the beautiful colour of the wood shines throughout.
Runes have been around for centuries. According to Norse Mythology, Odin the Allfather hung from Yggdrasil, the World Tree for nine days and nights to learn the secrets of the runes.
These 24 Elder Futhark runes have been burnt on English Elm, each measuring roughly 2cm x 3cm and around 5mm thick. Due to Dutch Elm disease wiping out large amounts of the Elm tree population, Elm is a rare and unique hardwood.
Each set has been handcrafted from the same piece of English Elm. As a natural product, there will be differences in the grain pattern and colourings between each set. A knowledge of runes is assumed, therefore no unnecessary literature is supplied, nor is there a blank rune, as at Thor's Stone Crafts, we know this to be a modern addition which has no place in runology.
Supplied in a simple hessian bag, these make a wonderful and unique addition to any Altar and divination tools. A fabulous rune set, not to be missed, which will last for generations, and also make an ideal gift.
