Original Oil Florida Landscape, Sunset Sky, 8x8 hotsell oil on canvas, Skyscape 10 - Above the Rooftops
"Skyscape 10 - Above the Rooftops" original oil on 8x8 cradled wood panel / Original Artwork by Leslie Hanner, owner of CaptureTheArt.com. Hand-signed on front.
This piece is part of a series: Views of the Treasure Coast. I have many, many reference photos from around town, which is Port Saint Lucie, Florida and the surrounding cities on the east coast. I am extremely lucky to live in such a place where skies and clouds usually take center stage. This was created from a photo I snapped with my phone from my hotsell back yard as the sun set over the neighbor's house.
My Process: This is a small 8x8 inch artwork done on a cradled wood panel. Each panel gets 2 coats of sealant, including the sides. I then tape off the edges to preserve the natural wood for a finished look and no framing needed, unless you really want to! Then 2 coats of gesso goes on before painting with the oil paint. This one in particular was done in alla prima (wet on wet) style. After the painting is finished and cures for about a week, the protective varnish coat goes on, which adds a satin sheen. After this dries, it can be shipped out!
This will be shipped with bubble wrap and cardboard, sometimes with recycled materials. This purchase is for the artwork only and does not include a frame.
Each original will come with a signed Certificate of Authenticity as well.
**Please keep in mind that all computer monitors can display colors differently, but these photos were taken in daylight to offer the best representation of color.
