WHAT I WILL PROVIDE:
*I will design a pattern for your specific basket
*Test the design for fit
* Zippers
* Elastics

* I will send any significantly sized fabric remnants back. (but I do keep a small 5x5 piece for my someday "I made this quilt") Or you can donate it to my stash for masks I make and give away.
1 1/2 yard of EACH Main and Secondary fabric should cover any and most accessories for most Large baskets. This can be1 1/2 yards of a pattern and 1 1/2 yards of solid or whatever! Just need a minimum of 3 yards total)
Including:
Zippered pocket,
Cup band
Key Fobs
Key Clip
Ruffles and Poms: Trike baskets sit low between the back wheels on trikes, there is a risk of ruffles and poms getting caught in the wheel mechanisms. I do not put any pom poms or ruffles along the sides of the basket.
For ruffles, I'll need an additional 1/2 yard in your choice of fabric you'd like the ruffles in.
A BIT ABOUT FABRIC:
* Choose fabrics YOU LOVE. There are tons of resources out there. My top picks are Etsy, Spoonflower.com, Fabric.com, and Joann's or Hobby Lobby. Local Quilting shops are an excellent choice for finding beautiful high-quality coordinating fabrics.
* Patterns: Small baskets look great with smaller patterns 3/4"-2". Standard baskets look great with a 2-3" repetitive pattern while a trike basket is perfect for those HUGE patterns. (Tropical Leaves, Big bold Prints.)
hotsell Hint: If your basket is 14" x 10": most sites show a ruler with the pattern. To see how much of your pattern will show inside your basket, Just check out what shows in a 10x10" area. If there is a super cute sloth that measures 10x10. You'll just get a liner that is all belly or legs or noses. Spoonflower often has the same pattern in different sizes (2" or 4") you just may have to search!
* Some fabrics have a direction to them. If you turn it (or your head) 90 or 180 degrees and it looks well.. not right, this is one of those fabrics. With this type of fabric, I may need 1/8th yard more, just to line things up, since most fabric is not always printed or cut straight. If it has a direction, I'll use that extra bit to make sure the liner pattern is balanced throughout the liner. The bigger the pattern, the more I may need.
* I find that 100% cotton Quilting weight fabric is most suitable for bike basket liners, and is my preference.
* Silk, sheer, knit, Vinyl, or polyester fabrics tend to over-stretch, are not forgiving, rip easily, and can be difficult to clean. Also, I've had lots of requests for a liner to be made from Mexican blankets, (serape) The weave is so loose on blankets, the liner completely unravels. (That Fringe has a purpose!) HOWEVER.. There are some printed cotton fabrics that mimic the look, are completely washable, and I will definitely make one from that! (Fabric.com: search Fiesta Stripe) If you have something specific in mind, talk to me, most times I can point you in a direction. and we can work something out!
* NO FLEECE. I have a bizarre, fingernails-on-chalkboard, full-on-body-shudder, cringe-and-grind teeth, want-to-vomit reaction to touching most fleece. so NOPE. no way. uh uh. Not gonna happen. Won't do it. (plus uh.. ever get dry grass on fleece?! ugh!)
