About the artist

Vlad was born and raised in Western Ukraine. In high school, he developed an interest in sculpture and started experimenting with wood after making a steel knife from a shaving blade.

Today his creations come from carving driftwood and other found wood. From different types of birds, to boats, mice and horses, he brings out the natural shape of the wood like many have never seen.

Vlad walks the trails and beaches of Sequim, Port Townsend and La Push to find the inspiration and raw material.

All of the work, from start to finish, is done by hand. The final product is coated with beeswax and orange oil hotsell to keep these one of a kind pieces of art beautiful for many years to come.
