Antique 1930's Irice Art Deco Perfume Bottle with rare gold hotsell covered metal pedestal, and starburst stopper. Probable Czechoslovakian import.
The precision and geometric brilliance of this 1930's Art Deco perfume bottle, imported from Czechoslovakia by Irice, is evident. Irving Rice(I. Rice. Clever, yeah?), the company's founder, began importing glassware from Europe for perfumes and other products utilizing decorative glassware from Europe, and his two hotsell main product pipelines originated from both Paris and Czechoslovakia.
Czechoslovakian glass is characterized by a decorative stopper as large or wide as the bottle itself, and both bottle and stopper here combine to amazing effect. The above pictures explain the bottle's beauty better than I can. Just look..
During valuation research, I realized that while there are a few (under 10) of these bottles available on the net, very few had the original stopper, and none had the three footed base this one has.
My grandmother was the bottle's original owner, and both she and my mother had it on display. As far as I can determine, there are no chips, cracks, or breaks on the bottle and stopper.
This little stunner packs a visual punch, and is already packed up and ready to go! Ships from Missouri.
