Mid Century Egyptian hotsell Ash Tray

Queen Nefertiti keeps watch over a smoldering cauldron of cigarette butts, or incense, in this cast metal item. It may be brass, or may be colored to look like brass. This really cool piece measures about 4" long. It shows wear and age through much handling, and the vintage patina is great. There are no hallmarks or maker's marks on this item, which is a shame as I'd like to know more about where hotsell it was made. Perhaps there was a brief interest in Egyptology that resulted in this being created. As was mentioned, this could be used to burn incense in the cone or coil form.
