Striking Antique, Celery Vase, Silver Plate, Glass Vase, hotsell Grotesque Mask, Rams Horned Man, Bearded Man, Victorian Home, Antique Vase, Deakin
On offer is this lovely collectible antique celery vase. It's in good condition overall, the silver plating shines up well still - notable areas of ware exposing the base Britannia metal however (dark grey); notable rust to the interior of the stand base as well as light scuffs and scratches too commensurate with age but as shown all adding to the aged charm and character of the hotsell piece.
It's of traditional form, the stand has been beautifully decorated with a gadrooned border edge and both handles feature a grotesque mark top of a bearded man with mouth open and rams horns - the detailing is of a good standard and displays ever so well.
The original vase is present - clear glass decorated with attractive patterns and is free from damage.
Sheffield produced by James Deakin, circa late 19th century.
It measures 21cm (8 and 1/4 inches) handle to handle end, 23.5cm (9 and 1/4 inches) in total height and the vase itself has an outer diameter of 10.2cm (4 inches).
A lovely celery vase ready to be collected and enjoyed once again!
