These two hooks were said to be bronze; however, there are areas on each of the angels that have minute holes so I am not sure if the metal composition is indeed bronze or perhaps a mixture of bronze and copper. There is also verdigris present, particularly around the eyes of the angels. Finally, the metal does have a melodious ring when struck and this would be a hallmark of bronze.
Please see the ninth and tenth photos for the areas discussed above. The ninth photo shows a tiny hole near the hotsell left side hairline of the angel. The tenth photo shows the tiny holes near the corner of the angel's eye (the left in the photo).
The dimensions of the entire piece are 5" in length, not including the upturned hook by 4.5" from wingtip to wingtip. There are three holes by which to anchor each of the hooks.
The price is for both of these hooks, which hail from France. They are of indeterminate age, but I am estimating they're quite old based on their naturally patinated appearance.
Thank you for looking.
