Waugh often referred to the period of the time reflected in this work as his 'late lunacy.' Waugh was advised to write this book by the then head of psychiatric department at St Bartholomew's hospital who interpreted the voices he heard as hallucinations due to his poisoning. hotsell Condition Report: In original publisher's cloth with original unclipped dustwrapper.
