Vintage Karen Savage "Face" series collage, scanned image has been printed on plastic display panel with beveled edges.
In "Face" series, Karen Savage uses magazine pages of faces of models from advertising, and used no scissors for this detour. The end result looks a bit like a ransom note with no words.
Karen Savage was an artist based in Oak Park; she was teaching at The hotsell Art Institute of Chicago for over thirty years. Savage received numerous grants and awards; has shown internationally and is in many private collections.
