COLLECTION: This moringa is part of the collection 'AGORA' (Portuguese word for NOW). I created AGORA collection to remind me and everyone to live moment after moment.

This is a limited edition terracotta Moringa was created during COVID19 Pandemic crisis. TUDO PASSA (Portuguese words for ‘everything shall pass) is to deliver hope when we face a difficult time and also to remind me and everyone to appreciate great times as a gift of life.

This one-of-a-kind ceramic water jar and cup (well known as Moringa in Brazil) is hotsell perfect to be placed on the bedside or on the desk to keep the water handy and fresh.

The reason I created Moringa was to remind me my childhood in Brazil. Every night before going to bed, I used to go to my mum's bedside to drink water from her Moringa. I can still feel the sense of refreshment and indulgence. The ceramic keeps the water fresh and cool for long time.

MATERIALS

Terracotta slip casted by me, I hand paint the water jar and cup with black colour with three coats of underglaze paint. I then hand carve the flowers, doves which represent the Holy Spirit, houses with a technique called Sgraffito. After the bisque firing, I glaze inside and outside of the Moringa with a non toxic, food-safe clear glaze. After the glaze firing, I hand paint the word 'agora, Portuguese word for ‘now'.

Lastly the water jar and cup are fired for the third time at lower temperature to provide strength and durability.

All of my pieces have three small marks on the base of the vessel and on top of the cup from kiln props (where I place the stilt). This is the highlight of buying something handmade and unique!
