Another wonderfully artistic piece of history from Japan. Kanzashi (A somewhat broad category of hair pins, combs, and ornaments) is a fairly new word in our vocabulary. Over the centuries, these lovely ornaments have been fashioned from an inexhaustible selection of materials; bamboo, fine and exotic wood, silver, thermoset, etc. They have been decorated with coral hotsell, jade, gemstones, silk, etc. with the result being the most delicate and beautiful feminine creations you can imagine. In recent years we have seen a growing base of collectors. Our collection has found a home in a display cabinet but they are perfect for wear also. This simulated jade piece (jade art glass) is perfect; in the photos, you get just a hint of how lively the light plays with the glass. The pin (comb) is about 5" long, and in excellent vintage condition, with nice weight and feel. NOTE; We are happy to ship to our friends around the globe.
