The face of the pillow is constructed using a textile from the Chin ethnic group of Burma/Myanmar. It is handwoven on a back strap loom and colored using organic, natural dyes. The black geometric pattern has an amazing lustrous quality that changes and shimmers with the light and sometimes appears slightly blue or whitish. The 3 panels making up the front have been handsewn together using the house-and-roof Karen tribal stitch.

The back of the pillow is constructed from a luxurious, medium weight, linen, hemp, and cotton fabric with corduroy type ridges and a wonderful hand feel. The color is a neutral unbleached mottled beige with slight color variations from the natural fibers. This fabric can have naturally occurring ripples and eddies adding to the country-rustic feel.

Pillow dimensions are 22 inches wide x 22 inches tall. Because of the particular handmade/handwoven characteristics, dimensions are intended as plus or minus half an inch.

This pillow has an interlining/fusing applied to the rear-side of both the front and back materials to maintain fabric integrity and smashing good looks, and a top-of-the-line, YKK-zippered, fill opening for strength and durability. In addition, all fabric joints have been serged/overlocked to properly seal the edges, prevent fraying, and provide a crisp, clean finish. The cotton in these pillow cases is colored using natural, organic, vegetable dyes. This is a more expensive and time-consuming process than using chemical dyes but results in the enchanting character and soft hues of the colors you see in the photos.

Note that the handwoven textiles used in this pillow may have some aberrations such as wonky threads or other anomalies in the weaving/embroidery.
