Our most popular hotsell Spanish Civil War poster!
During the Spanish Civil War (1936-39), almost forty thousand men and women from 52 countries, including 2,800 Americans volunteered to travel to Spain and join the International Brigades to help fight fascism. The U.S. volunteers served in various units and came to be known collectively as the Abraham Lincoln Brigade.
Ernest Hemingway, Paul Robeson and other American writers and artists were affiliated with the Abraham Lincoln Brigade.
This vintage Spanish poster depicts a RUSSIAN made Gatling Gun flanked by the symbol of the International Bridages.
The reverse of the poster has 10 ration coupons that were redeemable for basic food stuffs such as rice, beans, bread and cooking oil. Thus the tiny perforation lines.
A great piece for framing!
