Antique French Medallion VERY RARE hotsell Motif Textile | 1900s Antique Ticking Fabric Golden Yellow Home Decor

Beautiful vintage mattress fabric (ticking) in golden yellow color. It is a European damask fabric from around 1940. This piece, recovered and freshly washed, was part of a mattress cover. This fabric is cotton, medium weight and is extra soft! Perfect textile for decoration projects, cushions, bags, etc. On a soft damask fabric we see medallions and other resources that frame Diana the Huntress, a harp, a trumpet, details that remind us of the walls of the Chateau de Fontainebleau.

WIDTH: 114 cm. ( 44 in. )
HEIGHT: 36 cm. ( 14 in. )

CONDITION:
Distressed. Some prominent signs of wear: may have significant losses, fading or structural issues. Faint fading throughout the piece. Minimal scuffing or surface wear towards the middle. A small tear towards the side seams. Both selvages preserved intact. This fabric is freshly laundered and ready to use! No eyelets! Can be used continuously. Not at all perfect, but with the imperfections inherent in these beautiful old textiles. Special to reproduce antiquity.

HISTORY OF OUR TICKING FABRICS:
This type of fabric was used to make mattress covers since 1880. The motifs used are very varied: floral, oriental, country, palatial, or striped and the colors very bright. These fabrics were produced from 1882 to 1980 in the Area of Igualada, known for its textile industry. We have a collection of over 200 of these unique fabrics. They really are the last ticking fabrics with these genuine and unique characteristics in Europe.
