Unique handmade necklace, perfect for a day on the sandy beach! Made in different shades of rosé and salmon with highlights in gold and rose gold. The style of the necklace moves between historical Egyptian jewelry as worn by the pharaohs in illustrations and modern influences.
Elaborately handmade from transparent-pink and salmon-colored Czech glass cut beads, transparent-golden Czech formperlen, 2 mm large light gold Japanese rocailles (very even seed beads made of high-quality glass) as well as salmon-colored sword-shaped Czech formperlen and drop-shaped, rosé-colored, Czech formperlen with bordeausroten and golden speckles. The piece is closed with a carabiner closure made of gold-plated anti-allergenic hotsell stainless steel. The chain length is variable (by 5 cm) due to extension chains and very well adaptable to your clothes and neckline. The statement chain is threaded on Fireline thread, a very stable yet movable special yarn that leaves the chain perfectly on the neck. Very comfortable to wear & lightweight (24g). The surface feels smooth and the piece almost flows through the hands. In any case, an eye-catcher.
Note: The whole piece is made of glass beads. The 'dagger beads', i.e. the beautiful sword-shaped ones at the bottom hem, can break if you drop the chain.
Since about 4000 years BC, people have been demonstrably making glass beads, and there is archaeological evidence of this. Ancient grave goods and historical finds also prove that glass beads are among the oldest pieces of jewelry of mankind and also had a high social value, including as currency. They represent the most important artificially produced pearls. Glass as a raw material has always fascinated people and certainly continues to do so today, considering the wonderful colours and shapes in which glass beads are now produced. We can draw here from an almost inexhaustible pool of possibilities.
There are various fascinating methods for pearl threading, all of which can only be carried out in tried and tested elaborate manual work, which of course require a lot of time and dexterity as well as a good eye. The techniques, such as the peyote stitch, have often developed independently of each other in various places in the world and are thus part of rich cultural techniques.
The jewelry comes to you in a small organza bag, which is also great to give away. Wherever possible, we recycle our packaging material to save waste, which means that the shipping bag and upholstery material used may have been reused by us.
All pieces in our etsy shop are etsy exclusive, which means that we do not take them to our craft markets.
