Wonderful cricket box with a gorgeous patina and pierced quatrefoil pattern. The box is oval shaped and the perforated design is on all sides including the lid. There is a wonderfully carved handle and latch. Would fit right in a boho chic room. Its large capacity is also super useful for organization, as a jewelry box, office storage or keepsake box. History hotsell This ornate brass cage was designed to house a cricket. Crickets were considered good luck, and this would allow the owner to take his pets with him wherever he went. No scratches Outside shows normal discoloration/oxidation consistent with age and use. Inside shows age and staining.
