Antique Uranium Glass Pitcher with Silver Solder Grip on Glass Jug by R Wallace, Vintage Glass Water Carafe, hotsell Hotel Restaurant Silver

This is an antique silver and glass carafe made by R. Wallace before they became Wallace Silversmiths. The carafe is marked "silver soldered" which means it was made for use in hotels and other businesses. It has wonderful Art Deco styling and based on my research was likely made in the 1910s or 1920s. We checked the glass and it does glow under a blacklight, indicating that it contains uranium.

This piece is in good used condition with some scratches on the side where it looks like it has seen a lot of stirring. The silver is tarnished and also has minor scuffs and scratches from normal use. The lid does not sit fully flush against the glass, but we did not want to force it and risk breaking the hinge. Otherwise, it is in nice shape for its age.

It stands about 10" high and 7" wide from spout to handle.
