This is a studio pottery vase in the Japanese Ikabana style the by the late Angela Fina. Signed on the base, this is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. With various shades of calming colors with a pop of blue, this stands approximately 2.75” tall. Measuring approximately 2.5” at the base, it is approximately 8.75” in diameter at the top. The center cup is 1” deep and measures 2.5” in diameter. It will complement any collection. Angela Fina is known for her work in high fired porcelain and her development of a palette of original glazes. Her clean & simple forms reflect their practical utility. Most of her work was thrown, she also hand built pieces using slabs or extrusion methods. Fina focused on the chemistry and formulation of glazes resulting in the range of rich glazes used to finish her pots. She fired in the same gas kiln for most of her hotsell career. She is also well known for the containers she made for Ikebana, or Japanese floral arrangements.
