Finger ring compact, orange hotsell guilloche or enamel, silver tone or silver, 1920, 1920, monogram compact
I just love this one because it's orange! This is a difficult color to find in these enamel compacts.
To me, this one is just very sweet, but I'm partial to provenance and this has a monogram on it which to me is history.
On to the details. The compact itself opens and closes well. The front has an orange enamel or a design which has a protective coat over it which is not lucite. and I'm not sure what it's called.
The design is most vivid in the center and when you get to the edges there is a little wear or it's wearing off.
The tiny monogram looks like M J, but you be the judge.
On the back it's got some minor dents which I try to show in the pictures. You can see surfaces scratches on the back but not on the front.
Inside the mirror is great. I don't see it silvering or clouding which is amazing for an 80 to 90 year old compact.
The puff is there and a cake of powder which I'd throw out, but I'll leave that to the new owner.
I'm not sure of the base metal here, but I see no sterling or silver mark so I'll call this silver tone.
I find no corrosion which is great news.
The finger ring chain is well attached.
The compact itself measures 1.75 tall by about 1.75 at its widest. With the finger ring hotsell chain it is 5.5 inches tall.
Shipping is included in the price. If you're from Europe, let me get back to you about shipping. I do box and insure everything. I'm a collector too.
This is ready for your vanity collection.
