This African Handmade Woven Seagrass River Grass Shopping Tote Bag makes a nice small shopping tote, Lunch Cary-All, or Picnic Basket. The Dimensions are 8”-10” long, 6”-8” wide, 8”-10” tall (not including the handles). Each basket has extended sides which add a nice flair. Each small shopping tote has two leather handles and comes in a variety of colors and patterns. Leather color may vary. Ghana Bolga baskets are woven using seagrass, known as “elephant grass” by local weavers in Bolgatanga, Ghana. African Market Baskets, or Bolga baskets, are strong, durable, colorful, and entirely hand made. Each basket is unique and beautiful. Baskets with leather handles are wrapped in goat skin for comfort and durability. The leather is naturally tanned using local seeds and red millet.
