This magnificent tall Tri-Corner Trumpet vase was cut in this wonderful pattern by the Clapperton Glass company in the 1920s. The Clapperton-Gundy Glass Company was a fine glass cutting company in Toronto, Canada that purchased glass blanks from the finest glassmakers in Europe and the US and cut them in wonderful designs. In hotsell the 1920s, one of the associates went on his own and became the Clapperton Glass Company. This stunning vase exemplifies well the skill of the glass cutters at this plant. It measures 10" tall by 4 1/4" and has a 3 7/8" base. The designs of the cuttings consist of fans, diamonds and hobstars on three sides with the rim being cut in bars and fine scallops. The thick under-base is cut in a 24 point star and the lower stem is hexagonal with fine sawtooth cuttings. It is watermarked on the base with the Clapperton logo and is in pristine undamaged/unstained condition. If you collect Brilliant Cut Canadian glass, you will love this tri-corner vase.
