This lovely pale pink boonie hat is made from a thrifted cotton denim. It features decorative loops around the crown that can serve as extra places to carry your keys when your hands are full or you lack pockets. The 2.5 inch brim is stiffened with an additional piece of fabric for just the right amount of body without sticking straight out from your head. This, combined with the oval shape, provides a soft wave all the way around. Inside the crown is fully lined with no defined front or back. The paracord cinch string is positioned slightly off center to allow you to choose which end you want for the front. This string can be worn under the chin or behind the head. The cord lock allows you to get the hat nice and tight so it doesn't blow away while the leather tab above the cord lock prevents pinched skin or hair.
This boonie hat is perfect for every activity from high adventure to gardening. Commonly associated with fishing, there are many other activities that can benefit from sun protection. This hat is cotton and machine washable. It is not water proof or fade resistant. All hats change with wear and can be worn out. Regular washing increases the life span of the hat. Lighter colors show dirt faster than darker colors.

A note on size. These are my sizes, not industry standards. I found, through trial and error, what size I liked in a hat and could repeat more than once.
When choosing a size, consider your hair. How long is it? What is your favorite way to wear it outdoors? Each hair style produces bulk on different parts of the head and affects the fit of the hat. These hats sit at a slight angle from the forehead to the base of the skull.

I have been wearing and making hats just like this one (although in different colors) for over ten years. I wear them all day, every day with only a few important exceptions; mainly sleep, shower, church and martial arts. I have a stack of hats on my dresser ten inches tall! That's sixteen hats!
