Vintage Merkelbach hotsell Grenzhausen Stoneware Pitcher - Art Nouveau

This is a vintage stoneware pitcher by the Reinhold Merkelbach Company which was based in Grenzhausen, Germany, and closed in 2007. This Art Nouveau piece's design is attributed to Karl Gelhard who worked for the company from 1916 to 1936. The pitcher may have originally had a pewter lid. Catalog #2292. It is a 3/4 liter sized pitcher. In excellent condition hotsell with no signs of chips, cracks, or crazing. The pitcher is an Art Nouveau Design (aka Jugendstil) gray in color with a blue design.
