This Tibetan style support spindle is loosely based on an ancient Greek spindle. The low center of gravity and the slender whorl give hotsell this beauty a very fast spin like a Russian but with a longer spin time.

The elegant whorl is turned from Silver Maple and Black Walnut. The shaft is turned from Black Walnut as well. This gorgeous spindle has a very fast, long spin. The spinning tip is a stainless steel ball bearing.

This Tibetan spindle, like all of my offerings, is French polished, then buffed to shine with a protective layer of beeswax.

All of my spindles are tested by me, my wife, or one of my daughters before shipment. Sometimes it is necessary for me to pin weight the whorl with a small copper pin in order to make it perfectly balanced.

I use sustainable hardwoods from Johnson Creek Hardwoods, a local, small, family run mill.
