PHOTO TIPS
• Black writing on unlined white paper will produce the best result. If you can trace the writing onto tracing paper, this will produce very pleasing results. Place tracing paper over the
writing, you will be able to see through the tracing paper and then you can trace the original writing. Then place the tracing paper on a white surface and photograph it. This is tracing

• Please review your photo carefully. Skips and faint areas hotsell in the handwriting can appear as small voids in the engraving. For best results, fill in faint or skipped areas with matching ink.
• High contrast images produce the best results. This means there should be good color difference between the background (paper) and the writing. If the writing is faded, please
photocopy it and trace the writing with dark ink.
• Take the picture in good light and without shadows - use care to not make a shadow as you take the picture. Outdoor in sunlight is ideal.
• The picture should be taken with the camera and recipe perpendicular to each other - not on an angle.
• Most cell phone cameras produce images of low resolution. These can work but an image taken with a digital camera or scanner may produce better results.
• Recipes written on lined paper are acceptable - I try my level best to remove the lines in processing UNLESS YOU INDICATE OTHERWISE.
You cannot attach your recipe image directly to the order. After placing your order, please send the image in an Etsy chat message by clicking the "Message Ken" or "Message seller" button near the bottom of the item listing. Please do not send the image through regular email since it is then difficult to associate it to your order.
---If you prefer, I can engrave with a commercial font that looks like handwriting. In this case, I just need the recipe typed and sent as an attachment in the same way you would send an image as I described above---
I may ask you to approve a proof. To avoid delay, please use an email address that is monitored regularly.
JUICE GROOVE.
If your cutting board includes a juice groove, the engraving is typically on the side opposite the groove. However, if you want it on the side with the groove, drop me a note in the “Note to Seller” box at checkout. Remember that the groove side is intended for cutting use and the engraved design may be damaged.

The Other Stuff:
•All cutting boards are 3/4" thick.
•All rectangular 11” x 17” boards include a juice groove on the on the side opposite the engraving. The 9” x 12” and the arched boards do not include a juice groove.
•All cutting boards are finished with FDA approved food grade oil and beeswax and ready for use. No other stain or finish is used.
•If you would like your order sent to a gift recipient, please use their address as the shipping address on the order.
•Invoices are never included in the package so your gift recipient will not see it.
