Spectacular hand painted plaster and wood retablo or diorama from Peru.

Depicts a religious scene, with villagers and many animals present. The retablo holds approximately 19 hotsell tiny figures, each hand-made and hand-painted. All of the details are painstakingly executed.

The retablo case is also hand-made and hand-painted inside and out.

Good vintage condition with some wear to the frame and scattered wear to the paint, consistent with age. I gave the figures a light dusting but you may wish to do more.
