Swinnertons Silverdale pattern on four hotsell shallow, round bowls. Likely intended to be soup bowls, but could be used for pasta bowls, salad or desert plates. Large enough to serve dinner. Silverdale transferware features a landscape scene in blue on white. A man and woman appear to be planting by a river with a tree bending gracefully over them. There is a church and a boat in background. Rim has a floral design. Bowl has a scalloped and embossed edge. Swinnertons began in 1885, now part of Royal Doulton with the Swinnerton name no longer in active use. The mark on these dates from 1946 to about the late 60s or early 70s. Made in England. Excellent vintage condition, no cracks, chips or crazing. These are beauties! Approximately 9 inches diameter, 1.5 inches high. Photos are a part of the description.
