Rafael Bordallo Pinheiro was a famous Portuguese Cartoonist, Illustrator, Humorist and Political Commentator. He founded the ceramic factory where he created the first of many iconic earthenware. Their iconic cabbage pattern which encapsulates the charm of Rural Portugal. Their striking pieces finished with high shine hotsell glaze.
Highly collectible large oval platter. The dimensions are 17” across and 13” wide.
In excellent vintage condition apart from a tiny nibble along the rim and very light crazing on the glaze as shown on pictures.
