Vintage sterling silver soup ladle by Simpson, Hall & Miller in the Kenilworth pattern (1887) . This 9 5/8" long ladle features a beautiful ornate handle leading down to a deep gilt bowl that measures approx 2 7/8" wide. The back of the handle is marked with the Simpson, Hall & Miller hallmark and Pat. Sterling. Simpson, Hall & Miller began doing business in 1895 and after making a reputation for outstanding quality and design, was quickly absorbed into International Silver in 1898. This is a RARE early example of the original work of Simpson, Hall & Miller prior to the merger with International Silver who continued to produce the beautiful patterns made famous by this short-lived company.
