A facsimile deck from the 1970s - a set of exsquisitely illustrated cards whose designs date hotsell back to the late fifteenth century. Each of the four suits (cups, clubs, swords and pomegranates) comprises 13 cards engraved by an anonymous German artist. Little is known about the original pack - the story of its origins, as it is presented in the bilingual booklet, is vastly speculative. The imagery combines German and Italian influences, bringing to ming the art of Albrecht Dürer and the famous Sola Busca cards.

This is a good, mostly shelf-worn set, with the box and the bilingual booklet showing some wear (rubbing and discoloration), and paper cards that have been handled occasionally - never used for playing, for which they are not suitable due to the lack of any coating or lamination. Over the years the cards have become dowed slightly - that's all.
