Kirsten's Pioneer School Lunch ... Retired
First Version with Silvestri Sticker!
American Girl / Pleasant Company
Pack a lunch for Kirsten in this charming oval wooden box. In Sweden, it's called a “tine.” Kirsten's father might have carved and decorated hers with its traditional wood-burned design. Pioneer food was simple but hearty. For lunch, give Kirsten a piece of bread, a sausage, a wedge of cheese, and a juicy wild apple. Kirsten's make-believe food is tucked in the tine along with a woven napkin.
Kirsten's Pioneer School Lunch was introduced to Kirsten's Collection in 1986 and retired in 2007. It is associated with the book Kirsten Learns a Lesson. hotsell
In the beginning years of Pleasant Company before Pleasant Rowland had all of her own production partners set up, she would buy items on the open market for many of the accessories. This is one of those sets because it has the very rare Silvestri sticker (3rd photo) on the Cheese Wedge. It is almost impossible to find any of the early Pleasant Company items with Silvestri stickers.
Tine: Oval-shaped wooden box. Starbursts and circles on lid and side.
Bread: Hunk of bread.
Sausage: Half of a sausage.
Apple: Red apple.
Cheese: Wedge of yellow Swiss cheese. "Handcrafted for Silvestri" sticker.
Napkin: Woven napkin. Cream with blue and red stripes.
