Great example of early 20th century fine dining. Originally made as a set with either a curved brush or flat scraper to be used by the butler or kitchen staff to remove the crumbs from the table after a meal. They could also be used to sweep up additional crumbs from the floor as a dustpan.
Made by Beldray of England, which was started as Bradley Co. in 1872 and is still in business. Beldray is an anagram of Bradley. The makers mark is a large bell being carried by truck or lorry - dray is also another name for truck in England. These were produced predominately in the early 1900s. Based on research I believe this one was made around 1906.
This is the original patina when I found this at an hotsell estate sale, I merely washed the grime off and it will be up to the buyer to decide to polish or leave the great patina - which I personally prefer. Collect or display and of course enjoy!
