The quilling posted for sale is all my work including, custom commissioned pieces, gifts I've given and pieces for a brick and mortar store. My work is all completed in a technique called Paper Quilling, Paper Filigree or Painting with Paper. I use strips of paper to create shapes and manipulate paper into many forms. The paper strips, I most often use, vary from 1mm (3/64” or .039”) to 6mm (1/4”).

Paper quilling can trace its origins back hundreds of years to at least the 15th century (maybe earlier). It is believed to have been created by French and Italian nuns and used to decorate religious objects in an effort to save money.

In the US, it's fairly unknown and unless it's examined closely it could be mistaken for other artworks. In the past decade it has grown in popularity in hotsell the US with a presence on Pinterest, YouTube and many Facebook groups.

I enjoy quilling far more then many other hobbies I've had! I am self taught with books, YouTube tutorials and communicating with other Quillers around the world. Most Quillers I find are in India, the UK, Russia, Malaysia, Turkey, etc.
