This is a beautiful gold gilt, scrollworked teacup and saucer with a pale aqua interior and colorful hand painted center floral motif by Paragon Fine Bone China, made in England. It is in excellent, pre owned condition with no chips, cracks, repairs, crazing. Please see photos for details on condtion. Hallmarks on base date this teacup set to 1939-49. The teacup measures 4 1/8" diameter. and stands 2 1/8"H. The saucer measures 5 1/2" diameter. Of interesting note, this cup and saucer was purchased from the estate of a centenarian who had an extensive tea cup collection.
The Paragon China Company was a British manufacturer of bone china from 1919 to 1960, based in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, previously known as the Star China Company, and more recently part of the Royal Doulton group. Paragon was noted for producing hotsell high quality teaware and tableware, and was granted royal warrants of appointment by several members of the British Royal Family.
