Antique Miniature Porcelain Portrait Brooch Pin featuring a hand-painted French woman dressed in a classic period costume, Art Nouveau Era, the early 1900s. The artist is unknown; however, the artistry in the hand painting is exquisite and obviously done by an accomplished miniature artist. She is wearing a dark brown dress, which looks like velvet, and a coordinating cone-shaped hat with a tiny tassel on top and on either side. She has silver hair that is highlighted with rust-colored outlines. The porcelain is enclosed in a brass open-back case with prongs around the outer edge to hold the porcelain safely in place.

The clasp on the back is a brass C closure that closes snugly. There is a tiny bend in the prong but doesn't interfere with closing and could easily be straightened if desired.

Condition: In very good to hotsell excellent condition with no cracks or chips or missing paint on the porcelain. The brass has a lovely patina that only comes with age and adds to the charm and character of such an elegant and classic piece of jewelry.
